Wesley Walker Brief Biography Wesley William Walker was born in 1844 to Eli Walker and Susan Fender Conley. He enlisted in the 24th Indiana Infantry July 31, 1861 at the age of 17 as private, was promoted to Sergeant, and mustered out on November 15, 1865. He fought a Shiloh, Magnolia Hills, Port Gibson, Champion Hill, Vicksburg and Fort Blakely. He was Marshall of Mitchell, Lawrence County, Indiana and when Mitchell became a city he was Chief of Police. Wesley Walker was husband to three women and father of eight children. Elizabeth "Betty" Carr was the third wife of Wesley Walker and mother of five children, including my direct ancestor, Carl Blaine Walker. |
